Foster and amplify local bridging efforts across the country.

2023 Accomplishments

  • Working Group launched as an effort engaging national and local leaders who are working together towards developing a set of best practices for collaboration between national and local organizations informed by input from local communities.

  • Progress is being made to identify where BMAC organizations are working locally

  • Beginning to develop tools and resources for local and national leaders that are informed by what we are learning from local practitioners and communities engaging together in place-based bridging.

Next Steps

  • Continue identifying and mapping existing place-based bridging efforts.

  • Continue learning from successes in place-based bridging to inform the tools and resources the Working Group develops for national and local leaders.

  • Enhancing storytelling and case studies from place-based bridging.

  • Organize a focus group of local practitioners to develop a set of best practices for local/national collaboration.

  • Explore deeper collaboration with Community Mediation Centers via partnership with NAFCM.

Opportunities for BMAC Members to Contribute in 2024

  • Participate in Working Group meetings to contribute ideas and perspectives to the work.

  • Share stories of local bridging efforts your organization is doing.

  • Help build connections to local communities where bridging work is desired and BMAC organizations can establish mutually beneficial relationships.
